klettres is a tool from KDE Education project.
Its used for learning the alphabets and syllable's interactively with the audio.
Installing Klettres
Debian: apt-get install klettres
Fedora: Download the kdeedu rpm package and install using "rpm -ivh packagename.rpm"
Install audacity and equivalent packages based upon the distributed.
How to implement or test
Follow the instructions at http://edu.kde.org/klettres/add_language.php to add your language.
Tip: You can use audacity to edit the audio and to add sound lags.
How to record
* Open audacity press record button in the audacity control tool bar.
* Record alphabets and syllables
* Zoom in your recorded data and remove the noise using the silence tool
* Just check if the recorded sound is approximately 2 seconds.If it is not then please and some silence to the existing sound.
* Individually divide the recording into clips of 2 seconds each and name them after the letter
* Press File -> Export Multiple

After finishing it
To test your recordings
* Move the entire locale directory of recordings (example:ta directory which includes alpha,syllab,sounds.xml,ta.txt)to "/usr/share/apps/klettres/"
* copy your sounds.xml code into "/data/sounds.xml" file at EOF
How to run klettres
* Type klettres in the terminal or In the menu open kdeeducate -> select klettres.
* select language of your choice.
* See the output
Dr.Ramanan's feedbacks:
1. Check and test the pronunciation.
2. The sequence of alphabets should change automatically.
3. Keyboard layout should be easier and be displayed adjacent to the screen.
4. Should check this application with kids.
5. Kids would face difficulty to type multiple keys(shift + <some key>).
6. Suggested to use some simple applications to draw the alphabets with animation.
7. What is the purpose of using the Unicode.
