We encourage people who are familiar with e-governance and e-management to provide brief description of proprietary software that they need to use on a regular basis for their work.
We encourage people who are FOSS specialists to try to find technical solutions that might be able to take the place of the proprietary tools.
Guidelines
If you are in the first category and are unfamiliar on how to post to this wiki, then ask for help!
Each of these groups should be as detailed as possible in their statement of the problem/solution.
Moreover, please use the flexibility provided by the wiki to refine the original statements so that a truly complete problem/solution pair is found.
We are not afraid of forks! So if you feel that a split is required in order to state things more clearly, please go ahead.
Patience is a virtue. Just because a technical solution is available does not mean that social barriers to its adoption have vanished. Similarly, there is no magic wand by which FOSS specialists will create a solution to an e-governance/management issue as soon as they hear of it.

These sample issues have been listed by a FOSS enthusiast with little or no knowledge of real issues of e-governance and e-management. Please add a separate list of Real Issues in the Next Section. Once there are enough issues in that section, this section can be removed!
