Overview
The project is to create a web interface to a database that provides a comprehensive digital map of a town. This enables workers in the field to add, update and revise data - as well as to access the data
Pilot
As a pilot, it is proposed to digitise the MIT campus. This involves
- Getting a map of the campus
- Deciding what categories are to be mapped
- Creating the database
- Creating the web front end
- Physically mapping the features
- Creating reports
Additionally we can have
1.user generated content(blog, wiki),
2.data mining, human resources,
3.recruiting, sales,
4.project management,
5.communication,
6.security,information exchange (like our railway info),
7.social networking,Seminars, Events
And mobile/wired access to systems that traditionally requires people to be there in person. ?
like paying bills/info inquiry/classroom/lectures
Also like
http://maps.google.com/ but with much more specific content.(!?)
directions, schedule to lectures, personalized contents like myYahoo.?
