Venue : The Citadel, Landons Road (Taylors Road), Kilpauk, Chennai 60010.
Audience :
Don Bosco Fathers and Brothers from all over India, to update them on FOSS and to create in them an interest in FOSS. (about 40 particiapnts expected). The participants are already computer savvy (in fact, most of them have good expertise)
Objective :
To create an awareness among the participants about FOSS, update them on the various FOSS packages & tools which they could use [especially for documentation, multimedia presentations, printing / publishing, etc.]

Day 1: FOSS concepts, philosophy -- presentation & discussion
[Don Bosco members, esp. Fr Joseph, etc. could also contribute]
Linux installation, working with commands/desktop, brief LAMP overview
Day 2: LAMP contd. ; working with Open Office, Gimp, Blender and other packages
Using Collaborative development tools – Wiki, mail groups, etc.
FOSS on laptops – with wi-fi and other features
The last session will be internal for the BOSCOM partipants & organizers from Don Bosco – to discuss further about how to use FOSS in their activities, etc.

0. SIGA systems are on a network with Windows XP installed. Since the workshop includes a Linux installation session, most of the systems need not be pre-loaded with a Linux distro. However, it is advisable to have a couple of systems checked out -- Linux installation, packages which will be taught during the 2-day session.
1. System setup : Imran and Sanjeev will visit SIGA and check things up (before Wednesday 10th).
